Would your church benefit from getting hold of some of the latest computer software (programmes) such as Microsoft Office, PowerPoint and Publisher? The cost can seem prohibative, but there's help at hand. Charities can benefit from astounding rates - as much as 95% discount - thanks to an innovative scheme.
Tim Smith, who writes for ComputerActive! magazine, explains how you can benefit from it.
A must for anyone working in the church who wants to make the most of their computer.

Many software companies donate their software to charities and that organisations exist to help bring them together. One such is Charity Technology Exchange (CTX) who helpfully explained what they offer.
The website has a full list of the various programs on offer. Microsoft Windows and Office are there, along with Microsoft Expression Web, the web design software I use. If the church is more ambitious about using computers there are also many server programs to be found (but remember you’ll need to set them up and have the hardware to run them on.) There is an administration charge to pay when you request a donation, but savings are typically around 95 per cent of list price.
